I’m going to confuse you a little. This is actually picture #3 of the series. I used an app to create this one. The other two will be posted February 1st.

The dog was created on an old book page using charcoal pencil.

I first created the winter cat and then used an app to create representations for the other seasons. Spring is the colorful one, then nighttime in summer and of course browns for the fall.
I do most of my artwork lying down. No I don’t mean me personally. I mean the canvas I’m using at the moment. I almost always have it flat on my art table. The odd thing is when I’m creating I will strand the painting up to judge whether or not I like it uop tot that point.
While there are some advantages to the lying down method, like less strain on my old arms and joints. I have some shoulder issues which cause me some pain when I keep my arm up for long periods of time. Another plus is I also don’t have to worry about paint runoff.
Still I feel like I’m missing something by not painting or drawing with my canvas on an easel. When I’ve used an easel or propped by sketch book up in the past it has helped me see the angles and lines better on such things as portraits.
What do you think? Is it better to create lying down or standing up and why?

The one on the left is my drawing done in charcoal pencil. The other of course is my photo app version.

The painting on the left is a 9 x 11 inch acrylic and soft pastel painting. The other two were done with a photo editing app.

These are the final two renderings of my original cat drawing. These are both done with a photo enhancing app.

I hate to admit it but the original painting (top left corner) was a quick study in soft pastel. The other three are done we’re done with the MadArt app. My favorite is the bottom right corner.
