#488 Yellow Flowers

A recent 6×9 abstract oil pastel painting. I like the ease of use of the oil pastels especially on white paper. Each day in life we need to take an inventory and see where our tine, money and resources are going, do we spend more of our energy seeking after our needs or after our calling from God. Remember where your heart is there also will come your most effort.

#486 People Talking

A 9×12 oil pastel painting on a piece of grey card stock. The Bible says that we are not to try and stand alone. A rope of three strands is a lot stronger than one made of on,y one strand. So get in a group and do greater things for God thank you could on your own.

#485 Looking Out Over the Sea

The reference photo for this painting cones from Unsplash. The painting is a 6×9 oil pastel rendering on a Strathmore drawing pad. It is sad to say but summer my friends is coming to an end. Labor Day weekend is upon us. The Bible has many references to the seasons of the earth as well as the seasons of life. Like everything that comes our way we must enjoy them and use the time wisely because it is fleeting.

#484 One Flower Among Many

A 9×12 abstract painting created using craft acrylic paints on cardboard. I created the background using an old credit card to scrape the paint. The rest is brushed on. I put the one black flower as symmetry for the rest on the painting. In art as in life all must work together to create something beautiful. There is great beauty when the pieces of life/art join as one.

#482 The Cactus

I get a lot compliments about the art I put on old book pages. The Cactus is done an 8 x 11 in page from the early 1900’s. The picture is done in watercolors and highlighted in ink. Don’t get mad at me the book was falling apart and there was not cover. I think the letter in the background provide a good backdrop for art. In life it is not always important to be at the front. Offering good and faithful background help sometimes is more important.

#481 Looking at the Moon- Redo

Many months ago I created the art piece above, but back then it was only a line drawing with a little color. I decided to turn it into an acrylic painting. Whit I mostly like the end result I intend to go back and redo certain aspects of the painting. In life we are always going to have redos. Don’t fear them. Just learn from them and move on.
