Daily Drawing #302, Time Flies By

I remember when I was a child and even a young adult being sixty seemed so far off. Now that I’ve reached that milestone today life seems so much shorter ahead. This leads me to be more determined to live the rest of my life in service to God and also to help others as much as possible.

Daily Drawing #300, Oh, The Things You See These Days

Oh the things you see these days. Just when you think you’ve seen it all something comes along and surprises you. I guess that is what life is all about. The old adage, “There is nothing new under the sun,” is not true because each dawn brings a new day. A new day with opportunities to share God’s love with each new person you come in contact with in your travels. So look arounf and find the new things which come your way.

Daily Drawing  #297, Drawing Your Self Portrait

I have posted before how much I like drawing portraits. In fact on my other blog Tim the Artist I am doing a long term 100 Portrait Challenge. I think life is like drawing a portrait. Each day we add a line to our portrait until the drawing is finished on the day we are called home. My question to you is what kind of portrait are your drawing? One with the soft colors of service or one with harsh lines of a self-centered life.

Daily Drawing #296, A Warm and Fuzzy Feeling

I know we all think the Christian walk is meant to be full of warm and fuzzy moments. After all the Bible does say in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” However we all know the truth is the exact opposite. The Christian life at times is a rough road which is difficult to travel and without a faith based on and rooted in Jesus the road can seem unassailable at times.

Daily Drawing #295,  Waiting For the Snowflakes

I just noticed the local ski shop is now open for the season. This must mean the first snow flakes of the season are expected soon. I am sorry to say I am hoping the snow and cold hold off for a little while longer. We all have expectations. The problem comes when we expect something from another person and they let us down. This can lead to hurt feelings. That is why I always put my trust and faith in God because we can expect Him to do exactly what His word says He will do.

Daily Drawing #293, A Reminder of Things to Come

I know it is the fall but I try to move past winter to the spring to come and the coming flowers like forsythia. In life I find we do the same thing. We look ahead to much instead of focusing on the here and now/ While it is okay for certain things like financial planning it is not good get caught up in the future. In the end you’ll miss a lot of life.
