Today I decided to offer up a simple picture entitled The Butterfly. The picture is a simple pencil outline filled in with colored pencil. While the piece is very subtle in nature I like the way it turned out. I have learned over the years that sometimes the less fuss which goes into a piece of art the better the piece turns out.
Well here’s another one, a portrait drawing that is meant to resemble the person I am drawing but with bigger eyes. Although this one did not turn out the way I had hoped I still feel like I am making progress. Yeah, determination combined with inspiration.

Since it is Sunday today’s art is a very simple offering of pen and colored pencil. I chose a sea gull so everyone who lives in the colder climates can think of warm happy thoughts.
Today’s art is a rough drawing done with a #2 pencil. I tried this picture a number of time but am still not satisfied with the end result. However this blog is not always about the finished product but about learning as I go. Oh yeah sorry for the name change to Daily Art but I figured since some of the pieces were finished pieces and others weren’t the new name more fit the bill.

Yes, I know I changed the name of the challenge. I did it because I figured most of what I am posting are drawings. Today’s offering is a simple combo of marker and watercolor pencil on grey paper.
Drawing done with a 3h and HB pencil. I am still trying to perfect my skills with drawing portraits. There are aspects of the picture I like, the purposely big eyes but there are also aspects which I would render differently, like the angle of the nose.
