I started playing around with acrylic paint again. Here are two 9 x7 inch paintings. It is actually the same one altered from the right to the left.

The last in my series of photographs of tree altered using The PhotoEditor app. This one was also take by me at Monterey Bay.

Art to me comes in all forms. Once again using an app called PhotoEditor I modified a recent picture I took at Monterey Bay.
Art is hard for some people, like me. I am not a natural born artist. I struggle to,put down each pencil or brush stroke. There are days I want to give it all up, pack up my stuff and call it quits but I don’t. I love to create. Like I said there are days when picking up the pencil is so hard to do still I will keep on drawing, painting and creating. The reasons why are obvious.
1. It’s in my DNA. God created us to be creative. He instilled in us the desire to make things, to write songs, to dance, to build. In short to find a creative outlet.
2. I love the finished product, most of the time. There is something that stirs in your heart when you see the sum of all your work. To me it is amazing to know that a few lines or brush stokes can create something you recognize.
3. Art leads to more art. Creating is a continuous thing. When you create one piece of art it leads to more because you try to one up yourself.
Finally I believe in what Colossians 3:23 tells me, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
God gave me the gift of art. It may not be as refined as others but was a gift given to me to hone even on the days when picking up the pencil is so hard to do.

I don’t normally do this but today I decided to put on a piece of art I created using an app called Photoeditor. The stylized photo is of a tree along the coastline of Monterey Bay. I took the picture while on vacation. I am heading back today so I decided to use it as today’s offering.

I know it is warm out so I figured I’d give you a reminded of cooler time. Like all the rest this one is a 16 x 23 inch soft pastel painting done on newsprint.

The latest in a series of 16 x 23 soft pastel paintings done on newsprint.

The 16 x 23 inch painting was done in soft pastel. It is of a small waterfall and mill near the house I used to live.

The latest in my series of church drawings. I created the drawing using soft pastels and pencil.
