Today’s quick drawing is an homage to the Peanuts comic strips. The Peanuts comics have always been one of my favorites. Charles Schultz and his group of children were one of the reasons I wanted to be a cartoonist in the first place. I grew up watching the TV specials and reading the daily comic strips all the while seeing myself in the Charlie Brown character. I like him saw myself as the misfit who was always trying to fit in with others. Still like Snoopy I learned long ago dancing a happy dance makes the heart feel happy. There is something about getting out there and helping others which makes you forget about your problems. This I think was one of the lessons Charlie Brown learned inadvertently. He was always messing up when he tried to help others but in the end it worked out and all gang had a good time. So get out there and find what you can do for others so you can do your happy dance.

Daily Drawing #253, Go On An Adventure-Read
All my life I have loved to read, non-fiction, fiction, what ever I could get my hands on. Of course my favorite thing to read nowadays is the Bible but I still read many other kinds of books. However, in the school I work in I have seen and alarming trend in the youth of today. They don’t like to read unless it is a text or social media post. They balk any suggestions of reading and complain big time when they are forced to read. However inside of books their are many adventures waiting, a lot of information to learn and in the Bible all the wisdom of God. My advice is to encourage your children to read and if you don’t already pick up a novel or two and go on a grand adventure. Most importantly if you don’t already pick up the Bible and see what wisdom God has for you.
Daily Drawing #252, Seeings Things With Both Eyes
I was born blind in one eye. I am not telling you this because I am seeking pity. No I say this only because all my life I have learned to live with my disability. I didn’t even know I had I a disability until the someone in a state office told me. Due to my lack of full eyesight I can only pay attention to certain things. My wife is always stopping me from running into people because I have no peripheral vision on my right side. I also have no depth perception so am hindered when it comes to playing sports like baseball. Still with all this going on I have had a productive life. Because of my minor disability I have learned to respect and admire anyone who strives to not look at their disability as a hindrance but as a one more stone to be cross than other people in order to achieve all they want to achieve. I want people reading this to know that people with disabilities are still people.
Daily Drawing #251, In Times of Trouble Take A Knee
One thing I learned as a child was self-sufficiency. You see my parents split up when I was young and being the youngest child meant all my siblings had married and moved out. I loved and still love my mom and I know she tried her best to help me deal with things but she didn’t understand the comings and goings of many of my situations. So real early in my life I had to figure things out for myself. As I grew I learned not to ask for help. I tried to do everything on my own. When I gave my life to serving God I still struggled with trying to do everything on my own. Believe me, I got myself into a lot of jams financially with which I’m still dealing. I have learned from all my missteps God is there waiting for me to get on my knees and ask Him for help. So don’t be stubborn ask God in prayer He will be always be there.
Daily Drawing #248, When Love Comes Down
Daily Drawing #247, Looking for Fairytale Endings
Who doesn’t like a good fairy tale. I know I do. Shrek is one of my favorites. In the end the not so handsome ogre gets the pretty girl…well girl turned into an ogre because of true love. Like all fairy tales Shrek had a happy ending. Well I am sad to inform you life does not always have fairy tale endings. Instead there are many more sad ending where nothing seems to work out for anyone involved. Like I always tell anyone who will listen, I trust no matter what happens in my life God will use it according to His purpose. So in the end life will happen it is how we handle it which will define who we are and who we will become.
Daily Drawing #246, Home Is The Nicest Word There Is
As I grow older the definition of what a home is has changed. I believe a home is not a building. It instead is a place where you heart feels the most comfortable. I have lived in many houses in my lifetime but the only thing which made them a home to me is the love shared inside the walls. Some of my homes were among friends and coworkers. I have also been in many houses I would not consider homes because it is was obvious to me there was not much love shared between the people who live there. These houses were sad places to me. As I said since my youth my idea of a home has changed. I now believe you don’t have to me among blood relatives to feel like you’re home. You only have to be around people who truly care for you and would give up everything to show you that love. Jesus did just so that, so someday I know I will be in a home not of Earthly origin but of Heavenly design.
Daily Drawing #245, Reading Between the Lines
I love to create pictures which on the surface appear to be one thing but on closer inspection are something else. I am not an expert at it yet but I am going to keep working till I get them right. Today it is quite clear to see the girl in the tree. Hopefully in the future it will not be as easy. I am reminded by this drawing of how some people, when they read the Bible, try to read between the lines with certain verses to create their own view of what God intended. The Bible was never intended to be a secretive book. What God’s Word says is pretty clear as long as you have the Holy Spirit to guide you through the book verse by verse otherwise the meaning of the words are lost like the girl in my tree.
Daily Drawing #244, You Don’t Bring Me Flowers…Anymore

I have discovered that every relationship requires a lot of work. However almost every relationship goes through periods of time where we get so comfortable we take the relationship for granted. These are the times when a relationship can fall apart. The key to keeping a relationship healthy is to keep the relationship fresh. A few flowers, a romantic dinner and the list goes on and on.
Our relationship with Jesus is like any other relationship it requires work. Now we know Jesus gave more for His end of the relationship than we ever can give but that is the beauty of GRACE. Still we must never take what Jesus did for granted. We must always keep the relationship fresh by serving God using our talents and gifts. Remember service is a part of any relationship. We must be willing to serve others instead of trying to get what we can for ourselves out of the relationship.
