Today’s daily timeout is a “Fishy Tale.” It is a pen and ink doodle colored in with marker and then enhanced using a digital art program. I hope you like today’s offering and as always all my art is available for sale and soon be found on a number of products on Zazzle and Redbubble.
I went back to my roots for today’s art offering entitled “On The Way to School.” I used to love sitting down at my art desk and creating a landscape painting. I have done landscapes in pastels, acrylics, pen and ink and this one on colored pencils. I hope you enjoy this painting.
I am kind of embarrassed to put this picture out there but I am doing so for a good reason. In the picture you see and unfinished painting on the easel as well as one on the floor.
My art studio as you can see is anything but clean. The other part of my studio, which you can’t see looks worse. I find I am more productive when everything is lying about. I do make an effort to clean up my studio from time to time but find I do my best work among the clutter.
How about you, do work best when everything is nice and neat or does clutter equal inspiration?.
Today’s daily timeout for art is all about the b’s, no not the letter but the buzzing kind. This piece is entitled “White Flowers and a Bee.” The piece was created digitally.
The 35th piece of art entitled “Flowers and an Orange” is a unique piece of art. the background for the still life was created using chalk shaved onto the surface of a pan of water. Then a piece of watercolor paper is held over the surface of the water and lightly padded creating the background. The rest of the painting is once again done digitally.
Today’s offering is lovingly entitled “Cat 22” not because it is my 22nd cat drawing but only because it sounded like a neat title for a picture. The picture was created entirely with the Art Studio app on an iPad.
A little offering,”Little Blue Bird,” done in ink and acrylic on an old book page. I like the pop of color in this piece but if I did it all over again I would make the bird a little more transparent so the words on the page bleed through.
It is hard to believe I have completed one month of my year long art challenge already. Over the first month I have discovered several truths I would like to share with others.
While “A Man and His Dog,” is not one of my favorite creations it is still a piece of art I created during this long journey of my yearlong art challenge. This one started out as a line drawing, enhanced with blue ink and them colored digitally. I hope to one day revisit this drawing and redo it maybe with colored pencil or another medium.
