#416 Life In A Goldfish Bowl

There are times in life I feel like I am living in a fish bowl. There are cameras everywhere watching our our movements when we venture out of our homes. Some people even have cameras in their homes because they want to feel more secure. I know the cameras are there to protect to protect the innocent and as long as you don’t break the law you have nothing to worry about. Still in the back of your mind you know someone is always watching. What is comforting however is know that God is always watching over us in good and bad times. Well it is comforting to those who know and love Him. So if you don’t there is no time like the present to get to know Him

#411 Dance to the Music

I love to repurpose old book pages and use them to create art. Today’s offering is another in my series of fashion art pieces. I have added some wording to the page. Something new I’m trying. The piece started out as a pen drawing highlighted with soft pastel.

#397 By the Light Of The Moon

As a young man I used to like to play a game called capture the flag. Most of the time we played the game at night so the darkness would provide cover for our covert operations as we tried to get to the opponents flag. On some nights however, the moon would shine to brightly to provide us any cover. That is the thing about the light it doesn’t allow you to hide anything. Jesus said in, John 12:46 “I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.” We must always remember God is our moonlight showing us our way through the darkness of this world.

#396 A Little Wine

The doctor’s say a little wine is good for you but too much can be very harmful to your body. Life in the same. If we listen to the Holy Spirit as He guides us we will be ok because He will not let us delve to deeply into those things which will ham the body and the spirit. If we however delve into deeply, ignoring the Holy Spirit’s prompts them we fall into sin and lose our way.

1 Corinthians 12:7-11. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

#392 One Big Chocolate Egg

Yes I know it is not Easter yet but I felt like I needed to draw this picture. This little girl loves her chocolate. In fact she is wearing some on her face. This is a pen drawing highlighted in color pencil. The little girl like many of us is over indulging in the good stuff. The problem is if you eat too much chocolate it will give you a stomach ache. Life in general is like the chocolate that is why God warns us not be gluttons or over indulge ourselves because in the end we will find ourselves sick.

1001 Drawings #370, A Colorful Fantasy

I love to draw using color. Offered here is a one of my many fantasy drawings using layers of colored pencil to bring the drawing to life. As Christians our life is anything but dull. We live and worship a God who is the very creator of color. In life adding a little color can brighten up your world.

1001 Drawings #369, Oh What the Eye Sees

I am a firm there is a lot of truth to a line in an old children’s song which says, “Be careful little eyes what you see…” The reason the eyes are truthfully the gateway to the soul. What we choose to look at is who we become in our hearts. Jesus said, “It is not what goes into a man which defiles him it is what comes from inside the man…” The eyes are the first line of what goes into our hearts. So be careful what you choose to look at because it becomes part of what is stored on your brain.

1001 Drawings #367, Finding the Wonder

Life is all about finding the wonder. Looking for those things which cause you to say, “Wow, I’ve never seen that before.” Well besides the wonders God shows me in my daily, and the joy of watching my children grow and learn, I get a lot of my daily wonder from the pieces of art I create. I know I have a lot to learn as an artist but I also know the pieces I create each day are a wonder to me. I still can’t believe my drawings bring positive comments my way and delight to those who view them.
