#492 Walking in the Light

Another in my series of 6×9 oil pastel paintings. This one is of a woman walking along a sunlit path. A shoutout to Unsplash.com for the reference photo. This painting was inspired by the Bible verse, “Walk in the light as He is in the light.” As Believers we are follow Jesus’ model for our lives. This is the best way I know how to be in the light.

#397 By the Light Of The Moon

As a young man I used to like to play a game called capture the flag. Most of the time we played the game at night so the darkness would provide cover for our covert operations as we tried to get to the opponents flag. On some nights however, the moon would shine to brightly to provide us any cover. That is the thing about the light it doesn’t allow you to hide anything. Jesus said in, John 12:46 “I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.” We must always remember God is our moonlight showing us our way through the darkness of this world.

1001 Drawings #377, By the Light of the Yellow Moon

I love the backdrop of old pages for my illustrations. I think think there is something to be said for using re-purposed materials instead of throwing them in the trash. I guess the reason why is because as I am get older I see that nothing anymore appears to be built to last, including relationships and institutions like marriage. I am glad that God does not look at our relationship with us as temporary. No once we enter into a true heartfelt relationship with Him it permanent.
