#485 Looking Out Over the Sea

The reference photo for this painting cones from Unsplash. The painting is a 6×9 oil pastel rendering on a Strathmore drawing pad. It is sad to say but summer my friends is coming to an end. Labor Day weekend is upon us. The Bible has many references to the seasons of the earth as well as the seasons of life. Like everything that comes our way we must enjoy them and use the time wisely because it is fleeting.

#473 On The Dark Blue Sea

The wind is gone. The sails are down, The boat is idly sitting on the dark blue sea. The painting is a 9×12 acrylic painting rendered on watercolor paper. I could use this painting for a lot of metaphors but I won’t. The only thing I’m going to say is as I sit here on this rainy day is that God is our source of life and He alone is the wind that pushes our boat long. Lift up your life and feel the wind.

#456 Floating Along

Floating Along is a 9×12 painting done in Nu Pastel soft pastels on a grey piece of card stock paper. The picture of course is actually made up of a little girl, who dreamily rides along in her little paper where she encounters a giant sea gull wading in water near sea shore. The idea of the painting is the fact that as we float along in life we never know who or what we are going to come in touch. This is why we need pray each morning thanking Jesus he is there to guide as we travel along in our little paper boat.

#437 Sitting On the Dock By the Bay

There are some pictures an artist does as is but there are others they completely change. This picture started out as two people sitting watching the ocean. All you see is there feet. I switched it up and made it into two people watching a sunset. The painting is done in soft pastel and colored pencil on a 6×9 drawing pad.

#412 Sitting By the Window

EThis is another redo drawing from last year. I used soft pastels to add more color to the drawing. I enjoyed doing this one. A sad little doll who travels the world but never gets to enjoy the benefits. It reminds me of a Christian who lives their life never knowing the joy of serving God because all they do is sit in their pew or look out a window but never step out in service. Don’t be that Christian. Get up and get out.
