#412 Sitting By the Window

EThis is another redo drawing from last year. I used soft pastels to add more color to the drawing. I enjoyed doing this one. A sad little doll who travels the world but never gets to enjoy the benefits. It reminds me of a Christian who lives their life never knowing the joy of serving God because all they do is sit in their pew or look out a window but never step out in service. Don’t be that Christian. Get up and get out.

#411 Dance to the Music

I love to repurpose old book pages and use them to create art. Today’s offering is another in my series of fashion art pieces. I have added some wording to the page. Something new I’m trying. The piece started out as a pen drawing highlighted with soft pastel.

#409 Fairy On Toadstool…Texting

This fairy it seems like to text. Who’d have thought? No, seriously we have become a nation who is consumed with texting. The blemish with texting is that there is no personal contact. So make an effort, put down the phone and talk face to face. This painting is soft pastel on white 9 x 12 paper. It is for sale. If interested contact me at Whittsendart@gmail.com.

1001 Drawings #368, The Ghosts of Winters Past

Each winter we utter the words, “This has got to be the coldest winter I remember.” The problem, we forget about the ghosts of winters past.  Those by gone winters when the cold chilled us to the bone. I have lived through some pretty cold winters in my 60 plus years. Still each year the cold takes me by surprise. I don’t know if it is because I am older and it bothers me more. All I know is I am counting the days until spring arrives.
