The fairy stands on some rocks watching as the water as it speeds by her. Wondering where it begins and where it ends up. The small painting is a 9×12 acrylic rendering on a cream colored canvas paper.

I haven’t done one of these in a while. I like the ease of creating these abstract flowers. This one is done in acrylic paints on a 4×6 piece of card stock.

Today’s drawing was inspired by a fall picture I saw in a magazine. It was done using Crayola color pencils and then highlighted in pen. Of course I used my favorite canvas, an old 8×10 book page.
#422 Flower In A Bowl
I like abstract art because the object is to create without restrictions. This one is done in soft pastel on 9×12 maroon paper. Life I think is abstract because we try to live like there are no restrictions. The problem is like the painting there are no clear definitions of how we should be living. That is why I am so thankful we have God’s Word because I can open the Bible and find a clear definition for living my life.

There are times in life I feel like I am living in a fish bowl. There are cameras everywhere watching our our movements when we venture out of our homes. Some people even have cameras in their homes because they want to feel more secure. I know the cameras are there to protect to protect the innocent and as long as you don’t break the law you have nothing to worry about. Still in the back of your mind you know someone is always watching. What is comforting however is know that God is always watching over us in good and bad times. Well it is comforting to those who know and love Him. So if you don’t there is no time like the present to get to know Him
Daily Drawing #211, What is a Chibi?
The drawing today is my first try at a Chibi. What is a Chibi you might ask? Well chibi, “is a Japanese slang word describing something short (a thing, an animal or a person).” In this case a Chibi is a manga drawing of usually a little child with a large head and a small body. At heart I am a cartoonist. I have always loved the work of such cartoonists as Schulz and Davis. It is there work which inspired me to take up drawing in the first place. Over the years I stopped cartooning because there was no outlet for me to display my work. Years ago their was not internet so you had to send out your work and get back those dreaded rejection slips.
Nowadays you can post your work on line for others to see. What I guess I am trying to say is this, don’t give up on your art. Keep practicing what you love and then put it our there for all to enjoy. I create art for myself and because God calls me to draw. It is my ministry. I have been reminded by God and others over the years that if you try to create pieces to please everyone it is only going to get you discourage and frustrated and you will not longer enjoy your craft.

It’s been a while since I have drawn some flowers. The drawing entitled “Jar of Flowers,” is offered as a mid summer burst of color. Flower are one of my favorite things to paint in any medium because they remind me of life. every flower like each day of life is colorful and varied.
