A lot of people like my old page drawings. I must admit I also like them as backgrounds. This book page is from a history book from the twenties. It is an 8 1/2 x 11 colored pencil drawing. In our society something old, like people, are not valued as much as they should. There is a lot of wisdom that can be gained from sitting down and conversing with a senior citizen. It will do you both good.

Every so often I do a 6×9 oil pastel painting. I like the the oil pastels because they leave a little of the white showing through. As always any of my drawings and paintings are for sale. This painting would be $10.00 which includes shipping.

Another in my series of 6×9 oil pastel paintings. This one is of a woman walking along a sunlit path. A shoutout to Unsplash.com for the reference photo. This painting was inspired by the Bible verse, “Walk in the light as He is in the light.” As Believers we are follow Jesus’ model for our lives. This is the best way I know how to be in the light.

An 8 1/2 by 11 soft pastel painting on white water color paper. I created the painting using layers of soft pastel lightly brushed with water. The effect creates a kind of chalky water effect.

On a recent trip to New Mexico I took some pictures of a peacock. This 8 1/2 by 11 soft pastel painting, done on Canson, paper was inspired by the peacocks I saw there. Life is full of beauty we just have to take the time and see the world around us for what it is, God’s creation. Try it sometime you will be amazed by the things which appear in front of you through the lens of God’s word.

An abstract painting of flowers created on an 8×11 old book page. I used hard pastels for the coffee pot then wet them with a paint brush. The flowers are also went hard pastel for the base color then used color pencil to add more color.

A small 6×9 abstract pastel painting of a boy fishing. The picture was created on a piece of Strathmore drawing paper. I spent the day at the beach. I don’t go into the water. I just enjoy looking out over God’s creation. It inspires me. My advice today is to take some time and enjoy what is around you.

I decided to try the same flower one way and then I recolored the picture and changed it into the second painting. The yellow one is the second rendering. Both drawings were done on 6×9 white drawing paper using soft pastels and color pencil. Today is Memorial Day which is not a day for only picnics, partying and parades but a day to remember our freedom comes at the expense of the brave.
