I love to draw cats. The reason, like humans, every cat has a unique personality and I love trying to capture some small detail of that personality in my drawing. Like all the others this one is done on an 8×10 old book page using soft pastels.

I like to play with colors. Here are two abstract pictures of cats done with soft pastels one on watercolor paper the other on plain whit paper.

I haven’t done one of these in a while. I like the ease of creating these abstract flowers. This one is done in acrylic paints on a 4×6 piece of card stock.

Way back when I did a painting of a little girl standing on the beach watching her balloon float away. This drawing is an homage to that painting. It is done on a 9×12 old book page using soft pastels.

This is the first gnome in a future series of gnomes I am doing. It was created on an 8×10 old book page using soft pastels.

A soft pastel rendering highlighted in pen created on an 8×10 old book page.

My two little birds in love are rendered on an 8×10 old book page in soft pastel, softened with water and a paint brush. I then highlighted the drawing black pen.

I love Chinese brush painting. While I don’t consider myself on the level of those artists I do like to dabble in it here and there. I used another 8×10 old book page for the backdrop of this flower painting. The painting was done with pen and watercolor pencil.

The vase is so large. The girl is short so the flower is out of reach. Many times in life we try and reach for things we don’t need. The result is we fall just a little short of those goals and feel sad about the result. The bottom line is we need to focus on what we have been given to us by God and so avoid disappointments. The drawing is done on an old 8×10 book page using pen and soft pastels.
