#484 One Flower Among Many

A 9×12 abstract painting created using craft acrylic paints on cardboard. I created the background using an old credit card to scrape the paint. The rest is brushed on. I put the one black flower as symmetry for the rest on the painting. In art as in life all must work together to create something beautiful. There is great beauty when the pieces of life/art join as one.

#478 Vase of Orange and White Flowers

I decided to let my inner artist take over for this painting. Parts of the painting are more simplistic than I usually create but I like the end result. The painting is an 8×10 acrylic painting created on a canvas panel. I think in our Christian walk we sometimes overthink things. I feel that is why Jesus said to have faith like a little child, because children don’t overthink things they just have faith it will happen.

#477 Blue Vase

The Blue Vase is my first foray into oil pastels. The painting is done on 6×9 Strathmore drawing paper. Oil pastels I thought would be similar to crayons but their not. They’re much more pliable and colorful. I will continue to play with oil pastels creating more art with the medium in the future. Learning something new in life is like learning something new in art. You have to jump, no be afraid to take chances and above all keep going.

#474 Big Yellow Flower Redo

Once in a while I decide to redo one of my older drawing bags. This tine it is my big yellow flower. I painted over the pen and ink drawing using a light wash of acrylic paints. I love the way the drawing now pops from the old book page. It will good look good in a frame.

#472 Yellow Flower by Tree

Yellow flower By the Tree is an acrylic painting rendered on a flat panel canvas. The background is done by dragging the paint across the canvas and then rendering the flower. Today I am reminded of an old saying, “All good things come to those who wait.” In other words God calls us to be patient. The problem is we don’t want to wait we want things in the here and now not in the days, weeks, months or years to come. It is hard to be patient but we must learn to have faith that God will in His time and move on.

#468 Yellow Flowers in Vase

I created this piece of art work on an old book page using Prismacolor pencils and highlights in ink. I have no words of wisdom today except this, strive to be the best you, you can possibly be, because there is no one in this world like you.

#465 Abstract Purple Flower

Painting number 5 in my series of abstract flowers. This one like the rest is done on a 8×10 flat panel canvas using acrylic paints. You know as I’m sitting here posting this God is reminding me how varied and unique each one of His creations are including us. We need to be careful, even as Christians, not to look upon others and try to put them in our mold. Not to try and see how they fit into our group but to see and know fully that no matter what they fit into God’s plan. They are unique and wonderful beings.

#464 Abstract Blue Flower

The forth in a series of abstract flower paintings was, like the rest, rendered on an 8×10 flat canvas panel. The backgrounds for these paintings was done with a scraping technique. I like the way the randomness of what is left after you add then scrape away layers of paint. It is like what God does in our life. He adds different layers to our life then scrapes away the parts which hinder our growth in the Christian life. Then what is left is a work of art.
