#514 Faith in Purple

There are times in life when our preferences do not line up with God’s purpose for our life. I have been through many of these times and am going through one now. Today’s piece of art is an homage to those times. The Girl in Purple is struggling with her faith and the preferences she has for her life. The small painting was created on an old 8×10 book page using pen and soft pastels.

#511 Orange Cat

Every once in a while I like to create what I call fun art. Such is the case in the orange cat done on an 8×10 old book page. The idea for this painting comes from a picture of a series of paintings on Pinterest. I apologize but the name of the artist escapes me.

#503 Standing by the Flower

An original abstract painting rendered in soft pastel on an 8×10 old book page. I love putting small paintings on old book pages. There is something about the yellowed paper which sets off each painting differently. This painting is of an old Tim toy standing next to a vase of flowers. I hope you enjoy the painting.

#494 Old Tin Duck

A lot of people like my old page drawings. I must admit I also like them as backgrounds. This book page is from a history book from the twenties. It is an 8 1/2 x 11 colored pencil drawing. In our society something old, like people, are not valued as much as they should. There is a lot of wisdom that can be gained from sitting down and conversing with a senior citizen. It will do you both good.
